Bio-Venta Ltd continues the research project launched on 02.10.2023

Significant improvement of the lipid-soap residue from the production of vegetable oil and design of experimental equipment for the production of advanced biodiesel production technology

Bio-Venta Ltd. has commenced on 02.10.2023 the implementation of the research project “modern biodiesel extraction technologies available to Bio-Venta Ltd. from plant oil production, substantial improvement of lipid-soap residue and design of experimental equipment ensuring the operation of the technology”, Project No. 5.1.1.2.i.0/1/22/A/CFLA/005.

During the period from 02.10.2023 to 31.12.2023, a definition of the technology, end-product requirements has been carried out within which the following activities have been carried out:

- define new technology requirements, problem and research directions;

- defined quality limits of intermediate (acid oil);

- defined quality limits of the final product (biodiesel);

- defined parameters for lower monoglycerides and water content

With the definition of the technology and end-product requirement, work on the development of 4-stage methods of advanced biofuel extraction technology has been launched with 01.01.2024, where the “acidification” method of technological stage 1 is planned to be developed by 30.06.2024.

In parallel with the above, work is ongoing on the definition of requirements for experimental equipment, which is planned to be completed by 31.03.2024.

The project is being implemented within the scope of the operational programme of the reform and investment direction “increasing productivity through increasing the volume of investments in R & D” of the reform “Innovation Management and motivation of private R & D investments” of the Plan 5.1.r of the Latvian Recovery and resilience Mechanism.

Total cost of the project: EUR 314 040,04, planned aid of EUR 176 501,09. Duration of implementation of the project 24 months from 02.10.2023 to 30.09.2025.
