SIA Bio-Venta was founded in 2004.
Construction of the biodiesel plant was started in 2006 and was successfully completed in 2008, when the plant was commissioned and biodiesel production began. SIA Bio-Venta is the largest biodiesel production complex in the Baltic states, with a maximum capacity of 100,000 tonnes of biodiesel per annum. The plant also produces feed rapeseed cakes - up to 65,000 t/year, pharmaceutical grade glycerine - up to 9,000 t/year and mineral fertilisers (potassium sulphate) - up to 1,600 t/year.
Currently, SIA Bio-Venta is the largest biodiesel production and transshipment complex in the Baltic states, where EUR 77.72 million was invested to establish it.
The production complex consists of a rapeseed and rapeseed cake storage and handling complex, a rapeseed oil pressing workshop, a biodiesel production workshop and a biodiesel handling complex.
Biodiesel production capacity is 100,000 t/year, and rapeseed oil production capacity is 35,000 t/year.
The biodiesel production company SIA Bio-Venta was founded on 5 October 2004, when the designing of the biodiesel plant was started by professionals in this field, JSC Siltumelektroprojekts. The designing work was completed in 2006 and construction work began in the same year.
